Suzette’s Birth Story

From the moment I met Loretta, she was the sweetest person. She explained every step of my pregnancy, what to expect, and how to prepare for birth. It wasn’t just appointments — it was a process that made me feel cared for and informed.

I’m a United States Marine. I’ve been deployed before, and nothing has made me as nervous as the idea of giving birth. It’s that same mix of heightened excitement and fear because you’re stepping into the unknown. But joining this team gave me the confidence I needed. They prepared me mentally and physically, and that made all the difference.

I tell all my friends to check out My Family Birth Center. I show them the birth photography from my experience and say, ‘This changed me.’ I’ve had people call and say they’re going to do it just based on that.

People’s biggest fears with birth centers tend to be around emergencies or pain management. But birth is often painted as this scary life event when, in reality, it’s one of the most beautiful, life-changing experiences. It’s right up there with getting married and buying a house — it’s a defining moment.

Having my birth at My Family Birth Center was the best decision I’ve ever made. It was peaceful, pain-free, and they prepared me better than any book or video ever could. The staff interactions gave me the confidence to make this part of my motherhood journey, and I’m forever grateful for that.
