About
Anastasia Haner Shepherd has been in the natural birth world since her first day of life. She was lovingly born at home into the hands of a wonderful midwife. Her love for natural birth grew as she witnessed the births of family members and friends. She started doing volunteer doula work in her later teenage years and after serving a mission in Canada, pursued her desire to become a Midwife.
She attended Mercy In Action College of Midwifery in Boise, Idaho where she received an incredible evidence-based education. She has a strong belief in women’s right and ability to birth their children in a natural, safe and peaceful way. She completed a four year internship as a student midwife in Brigham City and is so grateful for the education and mentorship she received there. She became a Certified Professional Midwife and Utah Licensed Direct Entry Midwife in 2020 and has been working in home and birth center settings. She is happy to now be working with My Family Birth Center and looks forward to serving the clients and families here!
Anastasia and her husband Jason have been married since 2019 and are grateful parents of a son and a daughter on the way! Anastasia loves the Lord and is a witness of His hand in the birth process. She enjoys spending time with her family, being involved with church and the community, volunteering as co-chair of a youth political/leadership group, and of course, supporting women and their families through the beautiful experience of bringing life into the world.
